Hertfordshire Citizen's Panel

HERT OF THE MATTER is our panel of 1,600 Hertfordshire citizens. Join now to give your views on local issues and council services, to influence council decisions and have a say on matters that affect you.

What is it?

  • Hert of the Matter is Hertfordshire's citizen's panel. We regularly consult the panel for their views on how we should deliver our services.
  • The panel may also be asked to provide feedback on our partners, such as the NHS or the Police and Crime Commissioner.
  • By joining the panel, you get the chance to contribute to local democracy and get your voice heard by local decision-makers.

How does it work?

  • We contact you around once a month to take part in research activities.
  • You choose which activities to take part in.

What kind of research activities?

  • A variety of methods, including:
  • Online discussions and surveys.
  • Face-to-face focus groups, workshops and 'question time' events.

What happens next?

  • We share your anonymous feedback with councillors and managers, who use it to help their decision-making.
  • We send out a newsletter to share upcoming consultations and the outcomes of recent decisions.
