Hertfordshire County Council

We're working to increase access to superfast broadband across Hertfordshire. Here we're sharing the proposed areas of the county to focus on.

We're consulting all interested parties for comment on the proposals. Although we're expecting broadband and internet service providers to comment more fully, this consultation is open to members of the public and businesses too.

We'll consider all responses for inclusion in the final map of areas to focus on (we call these 'intervention areas'). We'll publish finalised maps and a summary report shortly after this consultation.

Background

We've been working with BT, BDUK and Buckinghamshire County Council for the last 5 years to deliver better broadband to over 79,000 premises. Read more about the Connected Counties programme.

Currently, over 96% of Hertfordshire premises can get superfast broadband speeds of over 24 Mbps.

We're now looking to further extend superfast broadband access to the remaining areas. We aim for high speed broadband for everyone by 2020.

Email us at hertsbroadband@hertfordshire.gov.uk if you have any questions.
