London Road, Hertford Heath has been identified as having speed compliance issues, based upon gathered speed survey and vehicle classification data. Following a successful bid from Hertford Heath Parish Council to the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) have been asked by the PCC, to develop proposals to place traffic calming measures on London Road, to discourage speeding vehicles and encourage speed compliance.

The primary aim of this scheme is to increase road safety for residents and vulnerable road users, including children and the elderly, whilst also promoting sustainable travel. Pedestrian accessibility will also be improved through the installation of several pedestrian crossing facilities along London Road.

Bus stop accessibility will also be improved, through the installation of Equality Act 2010 compliant bus stop kerbs. This will provide enhanced safety and accessibility for less abled, elderly or visually impaired passengers and those with pushchairs. It will also provide safer and more direct access to bus stops for local schoolchildren.
