This week is Armed Forces Week. It is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops including Reservists, to veterans, cadets and their families. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the county to show their support and get involved.
Events will be held across the county, contact your nearest council to find out what’s happening in your local area or find events on the Armed Forces Day website.
At Hertfordshire County Council, we will be raising the Armed Forces Flag at County Hall on Monday 2 July.
Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. You can find out more about what they are doing at home and around the world by visiting the official sites of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
Planning on attending an event? Send us pictures or stories from your day to Hertfordshie.Heroes@hertfordshire.gov.uk
Supporting Armed Forces in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire County Council is a signatory to the Hertfordshire Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The Covenant aims to give support to those who need it, such as those leaving service and looking to settle in Hertfordshire. You can learn more by visiting www.hertfordshireheroes.org.
