Hertfordshire County Councillors have awarded community projects in their local area a funding injection after identifying and choosing local causes which they recognised as being important to the county.
Each councillor has £10,000 a year to spend on worthwhile projects and applications are welcomed from across the local community.
Some of the community projects supported this year include a cycling proficiency scheme at a school in Colney Heath, Herts Musical Memories - a charity which provides singing sessions throughout the county for people with dementia and their carers, and the Lift Off! Project’s ‘Garden Club’ which teaches children and families new skills, such as sowing, growing, harvesting and cooking.
Hertfordshire County Council’s locality budget scheme has funded thousands of community projects since it was launched in 2009, supporting local good causes and making a real difference to people across Hertfordshire.
