Get hitched in Hertfordshire in 2018

Posted: Friday 12th January 2018

If a special question was popped during the recent festive break or New Year celebrations, Hertfordshire Registration Service offers happy couples a huge range of options for their dream romantic ceremony.

The beautiful setting of Hertfordshire is the perfect location for couples getting married in 2018. Last year our registrars presided over 3,700 weddings and civil partnerships. Every ceremony is as special and unique as each couple.

We have eight register offices and over 100 approved venues including country hotels, beautiful mansions and even a castle. Couples can tie the knot in a wildlife park, say ‘I do’ surrounded by Henry Moore sculptures, or have a romantic candlelit ceremony in the midst of winter.

Couples also have the choice of celebrating their special day anywhere in the county. So whether they imagine their special day on a boat, in a marquee in the garden or that extra special place they’ve always dreamed about, the possibilities are endless!

To choose this option, they would need to have small legal ceremony in one of our eight register offices beforehand and then they can celebrate their wedding wherever meets their hearts’ desire.

David Williams, Leader at Hertfordshire County Council and Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “We would like to congratulate couples who have recently become engaged and can assure them that we can offer a varied choice of ceremonies to suit all wishes and budgets.

“All our ceremonies are planned with couples so they can choose the style of ceremony, music and wording that is personal and special to them.”

He added: “Our Hertfordshire Celebrations brochure features a huge array of options and choices of venues, suppliers and legal information all in one place – an essential must-have guide to a Hertfordshire wedding!”

Last year, Hertfordshire County Council’s Registration Service launched a new version of its Celebrations brochure – an expert guide on booking and planning your marriage in Hertfordshire.
