A free new Active 10 app is now available to help you measure the amount of brisk walking you’re doing and show you how you can do more. It's easy to use and helps you set your goals for the day.
Brisk walking is simply walking faster than usual, at a pace that gets your heart pumping. You can start with a 10 minute brisk walk each day and then see if you can gradually build up to more. And May is National Walking Month so it is the ideal time to get moving with lots of others who are doing the same thing!
A regular 10 minute brisk walk can make you feel better in so many ways. It can boost your energy, clear your head and lift your mood. It can make everyday physical activities easier and help you achieve a healthy weight. It can ease lower back pain, help with high blood pressure and it’s also seriously good for your long-term health, reducing your risk of illnesses like heart disease and Type 2 Diabetes.
