As set out in the Note of the Pre-Inquiry meeting the Planning Inspector dealing with the application for the proposed Energy from Waste Facility at Ratty’s Lane Hoddesdon will be holding an evening session of the Inquiry. The session will commence at 19.30 on Wednesday 27 June and will take place in the Yew Tree Room at the High Leigh Conference Centre. The session, which will close no later than 21.00, is intended to provide an opportunity for those unable to attend the Inquiry during the day to give their views to the Inspector.
Participants are reminded that the session is a formal part of the Inquiry proceedings and is not a public meeting. As such, as set out in the Notes of the Pre-Inquiry meeting, all speakers will need to observe the normal rules of Inquiries, addressing the Inspector, not the public at large. It should also be noted that, as is usual practice, the witnesses heard in the day-time sessions will not be available for cross-examination.
Anyone wishing to speak at the evening session will need to provide their name and contact details (in advance if at all possible) to the Programme Officer, Mr Groom (firstname.lastname@example.org) (07860 636909). As set out at Annex B of the Pre-Inquiry note, it would be extremely helpful if you could write down what you want to say, even if it is only a series of bullet points and submit it to the Programme Officer. That helps participants not to forget anything and will help the Inspector to record accurately what you are saying. Again, that should be submitted in advance if at all possible.
Any questions about the arrangements should be directed to the Programme Officer.
