A1081 Roadworks divert traffic from 27 February to 6 March
Published: 08 Feb 2018
Carriageway resurfacing works on the A1081 Luton Road/ High Street, Harpenden will see night traffic diverted between the 27 February and 6 March 2018.
The works will take place between 9pm and 5am, on the junction with Coopers End Lane and the junction with Vaughan Road. It is expected that the works will be completed in five nights (excluding weekends), weather permitting.
In order to create a safe working environment for the workforce and members of the public alike, the works will be completed using a road closure, with a fully signed diversion route. The road closure will be during the working hours only.
Works being carried out during the period include carriagewayresurfacing, road markings, the reinstatement of pedestrian studsand gully cleaning.
Ralph Sangster, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “These works form part of Hertfordshire County Council's on-going commitment to maintain and improve our roads for the benefit of all road users in Hertfordshire.
"I realise that the road closure on this busy road is likely to cause disruption and inconvenience to motorists and would ask everyone for their co-operation while the work is in progress.”
Any changes to the proposed start date, duration or working hours will be announced on the information boards on site and will be available at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/roadworks
