Hertfordshire County Council is proud to have been awarded Highly Commended Macro Employer of the Year in the National Apprenticeship Awards 2019.
The county council was awarded within the Apprentice Employer category at the East of England Regional Finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards held in Newmarket Racecourse on Wednesday night.
The National Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices, the organisations that employ them and the individuals that champion apprenticeships.
Cabinet Member for Resources and Performance, Cllr Ralph Sangster said: “This is a great achievement and demonstrates the commitment we have at Hertfordshire County Council to encourage apprenticeships.
“Our apprenticeships are really flourishing and are bringing many benefits to the communities of Hertfordshire. We are grateful to our providers who are setting the standards required to encourage apprenticeships as a key part of our workforce planning.
“I am delighted that Hertfordshire County Council has been recognised for our commitment and hard work in encouraging apprentices who are a credit to the county council.”
Hertfordshire County Council was among 17 apprentice employers and individuals recognised at the East of England regional ceremony on Wednesday 11 September. A ‘macro’ employer is one with 5,000+ employees.
