Celebrations as work completes at Shootersway, Berkhamsted

Published: 07 Nov 2017

A recent ribbon cutting-ceremony signalled the completion of improvement works, carried out on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council, at Shootersway in Berkhamsted.

Ralph Sangster, Cabinet Member for Highways, watched by local councillors, Mayor Carol Green and students from local secondary school Ashlyns, declared the junction open and operational.

Work started in June to improve the junction of Shootersway and Kings Road. This involved widening Kingshill way to provide an extra lane, introducing signal controls, and improving pedestrian access including realignment and installing crossing points.

Councillor Sangster: “We appreciate roadworks can be disruptive but improvements to this junction were necessary for pedestrian safety, as well as the high volume of school children that cross this junction. I’m sure everyone is delighted that work is complete and we now have a safe solution”
