Councillor increases safety at school

County Councillor Roma Mills (St Albans Division) has allocated £450 from her locality budget to Bernard's Heath Junior School towards the cost of erecting a security barrier gate to improve pedestrian safety on the school drive.

Cllr Mills said:“Safety for children walking to and from school has to be a high priority and I am very pleased to be able to support Bernard's Heath Junior School in improving access to their premises.”

The locality budget scheme has funded thousands of community projects since it was launched in 2009, supporting local good causes and making a real difference to people across Hertfordshire.

County councillors work closely with local communities to identify local issues. For this year, each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council has £5,000 to spend on worthwhile projects in their area and they welcome applications from across the local community.
