County Council introduces measures to help suppliers during Covid-19
Published: 09 Apr 2020
Immediate payment is among the measures to have been introduced by Hertfordshire County Council to help its suppliers during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The change to the process means that, from 2 April, all cleared payment plans and invoices are being settled in three working days.
Ralph Sangster, the County Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources and Performance, said:
“We fully understand this is a highly challenging time for businesses, and we’re committed to working with our suppliers and helping them as much as we can. Early payment is one of many ways we’re providing additional support over the coming weeks and months, and businesses should also look into utilising the government financial schemes available.”
District and borough councils can provide guidance on some types of government support, such as business rate relief and small business grants. You can find more information on our relief measures for council suppliers page.
The new payment arrangement is to be reviewed by the County Council on 30 June 2020.
