County Councillor supports folk music and dance festival

Published: 23 Feb 2017

County Councillor Richard Thake has allocated £500 from his locality budget for Kimpton Folk Events, a one-day village folk music and dance festival.

The funding will be a valuable contribution to the costs of putting on the Kimpton Folk Festival on July 1st 2017, to take place in Kimpton, Hertfordshire.

Cllr Richard Thake said: “I am delighted to be able to assist with a grant towards running the 2017 Folk Festival. This is a wonderful effort bringing great live music and dance to the community for all to participate and enjoy.”

The locality budget scheme has funded thousands of community projects since it was launched in 2009, supporting local good causes and making a real difference to people across Hertfordshire.

County councillors work closely with local communities to identify local issues.  For this year, each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council has £5,000 to spend on worthwhile projects in their area and they welcome applications from across the local community.
