Song-writing workshops this May half-term
Published: 20 May 2019
Young people from across Hertfordshire will join professional songwriters in subsidised song-writing classes organised by Hertfordshire Music Service.
The workshops will take place in Watford School of Music on Tuesday 28 May and in Hitchin Music Centre on Thursday 30 May. They are open to anyone aged 8-18 years old and will focus on helping young people write songs about their experiences of growing up in Hertfordshire.
Participants can enjoy becoming part of a relaxed and informal song-writing community, developing skills in writing, performing and making new friends.
And the end of the day young people will have the chance to perform and record their songs, which can also be uploaded to the Hertfordshire Songwriter Chart to be considered for showcase performances, including some at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2020.
The workshops will run from 10am-3.30pm and cost just £25. Bursaries are available to support attendance of vulnerable young people, including those from families receiving income support.
