Wonderful children's centres are celebrated by parents

Hertfordshire’s Children’s Centres have received the thumbs up by parents throughout the county.

A recent survey by Hertfordshire County Council’s Family Services Commissioning (FCS) showed that 98% of parents who have attended their local centre in the last 12 months were satisfied with the service provided.

Just over 90% of responders said that the centres provided a good range of activities for children under five, with people adding that the dedicated work of the centres had improved their confidence as a parent and helped their family lead a healthier lifestyle.

Parents surveyed were also clear in stating their trust in the staff and service to support their family.

Over 5,500 parents took part in the survey, which was carried out throughout November 2017.

Councillor Teresa Heritage, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “These results show that children’s centres in Hertfordshire are greatly appreciated and respected by families throughout the county. They provide valued services, reflected in the vast range of positive comments and feedback received.

"We have taken these comments on board as we develop the specification for the new contracts which will run from 2018 – 2024."
