All Families First Practice Forums are Temporarily Suspended during the COVID19 situation. Please contact your local Senior Families First Coordinators directly for any support regarding FF Cases.

Attend your local Families First Practice Forum for a structured, themed learning session encompassing Families First and Early Help within Hertfordshire.

This includes:

  • EHM system support

  • Families First Processes, Pathways and tools

  • All things Families First Assessment & Short-Term Work

Who are the Forums for?

  • All Keyworkers

  • TAF Members

  • Local Practitioners supporting TAF through Families First Assessments, Graded Care Profile or Short-term work.

Case Discussions

A Families First Practice Forum is a facilitated session in each district which provides practitioners with an opportunity to share learning and increase confidence and ability in using Families First and EHM processes. It also provides an opportunity to have face to face individual case discussion with your Senior Coordinator regarding any enquiries about any family you are working with, open to a Families First Assessment or not, and will provide you with support and advice on how to progress these cases. Please remember these discussions are not limited to the Forums and you can contact us directly on the contact details below.

 

The Forums will be held half-termly in each double district area with the next 2 sessions focusing on:

 

As a result of the ongoing concerns over COVID-19, Hertfordshire Children’s Services have taken the decision to suspend all Families First Practice Forums in April 2020.

1. Starting a Families
First Assessment and the Families First Process

This will discuss initiating and starting an FFA and will include:

  • Completing the Registration Form
  • Timescales
  • Demographics     
  • Needs and updating needs
  • Consent
  • Adding TAF Members
  • Case Note and evidencing      impact.

2. Short Term Work and Voice of the child

This will include:

  • How and when to initiate Short Term Work
  • Being assigned Short Term Work
  • A demo on undertaking Short Term Wok
  • How to gain the voice of the child and importance of including this in the FFA      and Short Term Work.
  • Case Notes and evidencing impact
