We want the Local Offer to be as good as it possibly can and that’s why your feedback is so important to us.

On this page we regularly publish the comments we've received and the actions we've taken in response.

Specific comments on our website

“How to submit EHCP- not clear instructions.”

"Found some, but not all of what I needed – moving on from college info."

There's new and updated information within the preparing for adulthood section of the Local Offer that covers further education and moving on from college.

“I am looking for whether I can get childcare help.”

As part of the improving the Local Offer project, we now have a page specifically for information on childcare.

Feedback from focus groups or sessions

Send Online Feedback Group

We asked for young people with SEND and parents/ carers of children who have SEND to join our online research group to help shape SEND services.

The surveys and tasks the Send Online Feedback Group completed helped us develop a better Local Offer website structure that should make it easier for SEND families to find the information they need with less hassle. You can learn more about the SEND Online Feedback Group or how we worked on building a better website structure

Herts Parent Carer Involvement (HPCI) "look and feel" session

We ran a session with representatives of the Herts Parent Carer Involvement (HPCI), asking- what did they like or dislike about the Local Offer website? What did they think of the homepage? We also showed examples of other Local Offer websites that had been recently improved. The feedback from this session we included in our 'look and feel' research along with surveys completed by the SEND Online Feedback Group. You can read our blog post on how we developed the new look and feel of the improved Local Offer website here.

Ask, Listen, Do

Ask, Listen, Do is a project led by NHS England that aims to make it easier for people with SEND and their families to issue feedback, voice their concerns or make a complaint. The initiative aims to support organisations to learn from and develop better ways of using feedback to help improve services across education, health and social care.

We (Hertfordshire County Council) are working in partnership with NHS England on the Ask, Listen, Do project.
