If your child is under 5, there are a number of ways to get support.
SEND Specialist Advice and Support (SAS)
What we do
Our Specialist Advisory Teachers and workers provide a range of
- training to settings as well as working with individual children, their families and other professionals
- specialist advice about children with complex SEND to assist parents and settings to meet children’s needs and promote their development
- help to plan and support successful transition into school setting.
How to access the service
Parents and settings can access the service by completing a Service Request form and emailing it to the relevant area team:
North Herts & Stevenage
St Albans & Dacorum
East Herts, Broxbourne, Welwyn & Hatfield
Watford, Three Rivers & Hertsmere
Requests are considered by a panel who decide the next steps. The early years team will then let the family, education setting and any professionals know the outcome.
All children's services enquiries can be made to the customer service centre on 0300 123 4043.
Choosing the right childcare can be a difficult decision for every parent, particularly if your child has a special educational need or disability (SEND). We have childcare providers who are committed to helping children with SEND.
