Funding for early years providers to support children with special education needs/disabilities.
It assists access to free early education places by supporting providers in making reasonable adjustments to their settings.
Who is it for?
All early years providers who deliver free early education will be able to access a one-off payment of £615 per year for each eligible child who is attending a free early education place.
In order to be eligible a child must be:
- receiving free early education and
- the child must be in receipt of children's disability living allowance.
Who can apply?
Any provider who is registered to offer places for 3 and 4 year olds. Only schools and childcare providers can apply.
Schools and childcare providers can claim for a DAF payment at any time.
How to apply
Schools and providers can claim via either:
- the online early years portal
- submitting a DAF parent declaration and proof of child's Disability Living Allowance
Payments are made to providers in line with free early education payment dates.
