A wide range of health services are available to meet the health and wellbeing requirements of everyone including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Health services can be reached in hospitals (generally for sudden onset conditions or illnesses) or in community settings (generally for long term illnesses). For some conditions, health care may need to be reached in both.
Everyone over the age of 14 with learning disabilities is entitled to a free annual health check.
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) provides a wide range of care in people's homes, community settings and in its community hospitals. Staff work with colleagues in the NHS, social care, education, charities and local government to personalise care for people with SEND.
