Educational Psychology Taster Session - January 2018
Who is this for?
Sessions are open to teachers, 6th form students, undergraduates, graduates with the a first degree in psychology, and others wishing to know more about how to become a professionally qualified educational psychologist, or about the Educational Psychology Service in Hertfordshire.
What a taster session involves?
Representatives from the service work with audience members to provide details of training route experience and of the work within the EPS in Hertfordshire.
In addition to short presentations designed to give a flavour of the work of the service and information about the training route, opportunities are available for audience members to ask questions. The aim is to provide an insight into the role of an Educational Psychologist (EP) in Hertfordshire alongside providing details of other roles within Hertfordshire’s EPS.
The EPS currently has both Psychology Assistants (PAs) and Trainee EPs (TEPs) working within local EPS teams. PAs are colleagues actively seeking places on the 3-year doctoral training courses, and TEPs are on a professional training course. A PA or TEP will provide details of their current experience. Details of the professional training route is provided and illustrated through current staff member experiences.
An information pack is provided with useful articles and web links.
Attendance at this session is by registration only. For further information, or to book a place, please call 01992 588585 or email EPS.Central@hertfordshire.gov.uk
