The Hertfordshire Virtual School Activity Sheet is a flexible weekly timetable of learning activities for young people and the carers who support them. It is designed to complement work set by schools and other structured lessons such as BBC Bitesize. The offer is aimed at all young people, but in particular those who need a different way of accessing learning or a broader range of, often practical, options to choose from.

The activities are based around themed tasks with weblinks, each Activity Sheet includes a differentiated choice of daily physical exercise, a maths-based daily riddle (in Youtube video form), and two other activities, designed to stimulate creativity and individual response.

We hope that Designated Teachers, carers and young people will access the resources as they make use of the Activity Sheet and that they feel able to share their work by emailing their photos, recipes, song lyrics, blogs, book reviews etc. to the Virtual school (virtualschool@hertfordshire.gov.uk).

The work that is sent in will be curated and shown in an exhibition of creative responses at the 2020 Herts Awards event in November, which annually recognises the achievement of our young people in care.  A great time for us all to come together, where we will see and hear about all of their amazing talents and achievements.
