Urgent social care referral
If someone is at immediate risk of harm or care arrangements have broken down and they require an urgent response:

Non-urgent social care referral
Refer someone with care and support needs. You can also use this form to request a carer's assessment for an unpaid carer of a Hertfordshire resident.
We will respond to these referrals within office hours.

Safeguarding adults at risk
If an adult at risk is being abused or neglected, report it to us.
If it's urgent, call 0300 123 4042. Lines are open 24 hours a day.
If there is no immediate risk, but a police response is required, call 101 as soon as possible due to the seriousness of the incident or potential loss of evidence.
Who is an adult at risk?
An adult in need of care and support. This may be because they are older or have a mental health problem, a learning or physical disability and they are at risk of abuse or neglect.

Concerns about someone in a position of trust
A 'person in a position of trust' is anyone working or volunteering with adults who have care and support needs.
If a specific adult with care and support needs is at risk
If you have a concern that a specific, named person with care and support needs has been (or could be) abused by someone in a position of trust:
