Cedi Frederick is owner and Managing Director of Article Consulting Ltd, CEO of La Nova Group and an accredited Life Coach. Article works with and supports health and social care organisations and leaders and La Nova Group provides specialised, person-centred experiences and programmes that are tailored to meet client need.
In a 40+ year career in the public, Not-for-Profit and private sectors, Cedi has held a series of senior positions in the housing association and local authority sectors, including four years as Managing Director of a BME Housing Association. This was followed by twelve years as Chief Executive of a London based, multi-regional charity that supported people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems, then over five years as Chief Executive of a Kent based charity employing 2,500 staff who cared for and supported over 3000 people a year through its older people, children, young people and families services.
Cedi has over 25 years’ experience as a member of the Boards of several housing related national governing bodies, housing associations and voluntary organisations. This experience includes over 9 years as Non-Executive Director of a specialist mental health Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and 8 years as a Governor of a University. Cedi is currently a Non-Executive Director of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, Basketball England and CommonAge as well as holding a number of voluntary roles.A former England men’s international basketball player and coach, Cedi has been named on four separate occasions as one of Britain's 100 Most Influential Black People; described as '...unsung hero of the Third Sector, who has changed as many lives in his life outside of work as he has in his job'. In 2015, Cedi was recognised as one of the ‘1,000 Black & Asian Heroes 1950-2010’ by Our Heritage TV. Cedi is married to Sue, and they have two sons and three grandchildren.
