Safeguarding adults at risk

To report a concern to us that an adult as risk is being abused or neglected:

During office hours, you can also make a safeguarding referral through our professional referral form (DOC 35Kb) opening in a new window.

Call 101 if there is no immediate risk, but a police response is required as soon as possible due to the seriousness of the incident or potential loss of evidence.

Who is an adult at risk?

An adult in need of care and support. This may be because they are older or have a mental health problem, a learning or physical disability and they are at risk of abuse or neglect.


Urgent social care referral

In situations where care arrangements have broken down and the person requires an urgent response from us, call 0300 123 4042.

Lines are open 24 hours a day.


Non-urgent social care referral

For requests for care and support for people living in the community but do not require an urgent or outside of office hours response from us.


The form includes the facility to upload your own assessment or documentation. These referrals will not be viewed outside office hours.
