A recent ribbon cutting ceremony signalled the completion of improvement works at Shootersway in Berkhamsted.
Ralph Sangster, Cabinet Member for Highways, declared the junction open. Local councillors, Mayor Carol Green and students from local secondary school, Ashlyns, attended the ceremony.
Work started in June to improve the junction of Shootersway and Kings Road. Works involved:
- widening Kingshill Way to provide an extra lane
- introducing signal controls
- improving pedestrian access including new crossing points.
Councillor Sangster said: “We appreciate roadworks can be disruptive but improvements to this junction were necessary for pedestrian safety, as well as the high volume of school children that cross this junction. I’m sure everyone is delighted that work is complete and we now have a safe solution”
