Brickendon retaining wall, Brickendon
We'll be carrying out works to the retaining wall next to the Tun Abdul Razak Research centre on C15 Brickendon Lane. We advice people to avoid Brickendon Lane where possible.
What is happening?
- On Monday 6th February we'll start preparation works on site which involves a lane closure and single lane working with traffic lights until Sunday 12 February.
- There will be a 24 hour road closure on Brickendon Lane between 13 February – 28 April so we can demolish and replace the retaining wall safely.
- A diversion route will be clearly sign posted for those affected. The closure will stretch for approximately 1km.
- Once the main works are completed, additional works and final landscaping will be done, traffic lights will be in use between Monday 1 May until Thursday 18 May 2017.
Why is this happening?
We're replacing the wall to make sure it's structurally stable and remains suitable for use without major maintenance for the next 120 years.
