Whether you want to read the latest bestseller on your tablet on your commute to work, or curl up with your favourite book in front of the fire… our eLibrary is about to become bigger and better than ever. You may have already discovered eAudiobooks on BorrowBox. From 28 February eBooks will also be available through BorrowBox. Library members will have access to a collection of over 10,000 eBooks and 2500 eAudiobooks, including lots of brand new titles. There are bestselling titles from authors such as Lee Child, C L Taylor, Margaret Atwood, Lisa Jewell and many more. There is a fabulous range of titles for children and teens too; there really is something for everyone.
BorrowBox is an exciting collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks available around the clock. It’s simpler than ever before to access your favourite titles wherever you go with the BorrowBox library app. On your phone, on your iPad, on your home computer, BorrowBox means the doors to your local library never close.
Elegant, intuitive and simple to operate and enjoy, BorrowBox replaces the eBook and eAudiobook service previously provided by Overdrive. The BorrowBox app incorporates a dedicated eBook reader and eAudiobook player and is available from the App Store and Google Play. Install it on all your mobile devices for free – get the app now and get ready to borrow and download.
From the 1 March our previous eBook service from OverDrive will no longer be available.
Information for OverDrive Users:
Q What happens if I have a book on loan from OverDrive on the 1 March?
A Anything you have on loan from Overdrive should remain available until the due date providing you have downloaded the title to your device. Please be aware, if you have not downloaded your loan and listen or read via the internet, it will no longer be available from 28 February. Most eBook titles will be available to borrow again via your new BorrowBox App. Unfortunately eAudioBooks are not transferable from one provider to another. There is an excellent choice of titles available to choose from on BorrowBox.
Q What happens if I have placed a hold on a title in OverDrive?
A The hold will not carry over to BorrowBox, you will need to select the item again and reserve on the BorrowBox app. To try to ensure that you do not have to wait too long we have purchased extra copies of very popular titles.
Q Why have you changed to BorrowBox?
A We are constantly looking to ensure that we offer the best possible service for our customers within the budget we have to provide the service. BorrowBox is extremely user friendly and offers an exceptional range of titles. The dedicated eBook and eAudiobook player within the BorrowBox app ensures easy access for library users.
Hertfordshire Libraries eLibrary is completely free of charge to library members and there are no loan fees or overdue charges. To find out more about eBooks, eAudiobooks and to download the app visit https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ebooks-and-audiobooks
