We are pleased to report that, after a period of closure due to flooding, Cuffley Community Library re-opened to the public on Saturday the 17th February. One of the first people through the doors was local Councillor and Deputy Executive Member, Mark Mills-Bishop, (pictured above).
New stock has been purchased for the library to replace the damaged books and we are expecting deliver of new furniture, a new rug for the children's area and new window blinds over the next few weeks.
Cuffley Community Library continues to have a strong group of committed volunteers and we are still looking for more volunteers to further support the library.
Now that the library has re-opened, we have organised further dates for volunteer induction sessions. We ask that all new volunteers attend both a Session 1 and a Session 2 session. Each session will run from 10am to 12noon at Cuffley Community Library. We hold all of our initial induction sessions when the library is closed.
Further training will them follow during normal opening hours if you decide to become part of the volunteering rota, when you will be supported by buddy staff from Welwyn Garden City Library, as well as more experienced volunteers.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering at Cuffley and would like to attend the induction sessions please register your interest by emailing: email@example.com.
The induction dates are as follows:
Volunteer Induction Session 1 - dates:
Monday 30 March, Wednesday 1 April or Friday 24 April
Volunteer Induction Session 2 - dates:
Monday 6 April, Wednesday 8 April or Friday 1 May
