It is clear that families love chatting about books! Over 700 people have accessed our #chatterfamilies sessions so far, including some from USA and some from Norway!
The #chatterfamilies sessions are all based on an author reading part of their own work online. So far we have had Cressida Cowell, Chris Riddell, Andy Stanton, Cath Howe and Matt Brown. There are then suggestions of discussion questions and activities for all the family to share, and related book suggestions to borrow free from our elibrary, BorrowBox.
So many people – adults and children - are missing their normal reading groups, so these sessions are a great opportunity to discuss books while we are not able to visit our libraries or meet together.
All our sessions can be accessed here www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/chatterfamilies . So if you would like to chat together about dragons, aliens, empathy, bad men or fantasy worlds, do visit. There is plenty more family reading fun to come so check back regularly. We would love to hear what you have enjoyed about the chatterfamilies sessions and see pictures of what you have created, so please email email@example.com with your feedback.
