...keeping you entertained during lockdown
As with all libraries in Hertfordshire, our Community Libraries have been closed since 21st March, in line with government guidance. However, volunteers have been keeping their communities informed and entertained, via their social media accounts.
Sawbridgeworth Community Library celebrated the Book Trust's Pyjamarama event gaining a 're-tweet' by author and illustrator Ed Vere when they joined in with his online drawing tutorial - high praise indeed. Their book club for adults has temporarily moved online and they also held a week long LEGO Challenge. Jess (volunteer social media editor) has certainly been keeping their followers very busy!
Redbourn Community Library volunteers have been writing book reviews, including The Familiars by Stacey Halls and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles (both titles available on eAudiobook or eBook via BorrowBox). They're asking followers to send them their own book reviews, which they will share via their Facebook page.
Cuffley Community Library volunteers have recently set up their new Facebook and Twitter accounts and have got off to a flying start with some fascinating posts which commenorated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. They have been learning more about their ancestors' experiences during WWII and shared their findings on their social media channels. They'd love more followers so do please give them a follow, like or virtual wave hello.
Join our Community Libraries in their virtual world while we await the day you can once again physically visit them:
