Be part of this story as it unfolds…
Hertfordshire Libraries and Heritage Services presents
Funded by Arts Council England in collaboration with Hertfordshire Local Studies and Archives, YC Hertfordshire, Nysa Projects and Hertfordshire based artists.
Someone’s first kiss, not a pleasant experience; hearing about the outbreak of World War 2 and someone’s house being bombed during the war; the importance of school, reading, learning and libraries and how volunteering can change your life.
These are just some of the stories about growing up we’ve received so far for our new arts project - My Story. You can read them all in our My Story blog on Herts Memories.
The stories received so far have come from all ages so if you have a story to share, please do get in touch. Guidance on stories is available at bit.ly/MyStoryinArt
On Herts Memories you can also follow updates from the workshops in Hertford and Oxhey, starting next week (5th August), where budding artists, designers, curators and producers will be exploring and presenting the experiences and challenges of transition from young person to adult through art. Working with professional artists, the workshops will use the stories as creative inspiration for works of art to be showcased during Libraries Week (7th – 12th October)
Places are still available to take part in the intergenerational creative sessions and we will continue accept expressions of interest until Friday 9th August.
