It's a strange time at the moment but our staff are doing their best to bring you things to do on their Facebook pages. Here we have a range of articles from around our Community libraries on events that occurred just before close down:
Congratulations to our community library volunteers at Goffs Oak
We had a super evening at the Spotlight theatre, Hoddesdon. Wined & dined!
Major Steve Wortley & Head of Broxbourne Council ...Louis Cocking presented Goffs Oak Community Library with our Community award for our dedication to “maintain a public service for the good of the community”.
Redbourn Library - World Book Day!
To celebrate World Book Day this year the volunteers at Redbourn Community Library welcomed over 350 local children into the library to share some stories, have a tour and also a lesson on how to use the kiosk!
11 classes of children from Redbourn Primary School, and the local Rainbows group, visited over the week and enjoyed listening to specially selected texts including stories from Julia Donaldson, David Walliams, Rudyard Kipling, some poetry and even a quiz! The library also participated in the ‘Share a million stories’ revolution, and contributed to over one million stories being shared in just one week!
The children and volunteers had a wonderful time and some of the classes even drew thank you pictures which are now proudly on display in the library!
A huge thank you to the English leads at Redbourn Primary School, the Redbourn Community Library Steering Committee and all of the wonderful volunteers for working so hard to make this possible!
