Press Reader: “Read all about it”!
Press Reader replaces the online resource for newspapers previously known as LibraryPress Display and is available for library members to access for free. There are several ways to access Press Reader, in the library with our Wi-Fi, on our library PC’s, on a tablet, smartphone or at home or in fact anywhere! The main difference is that you no longer have to be in a “Hot Spot” to access this resource as you can also log in from home with your library card and pincode just as long as you click on the yellow tab and enter Hertfordshire Community Libraries. Once logged in you have 3 days free access before being required to log back in.
This amazing resource provides access to over 7000 UK and international digital newspapers and magazines, including instant translation in up to 18 different languages for most articles and some full publications. You also have the option to search by category so for example, if the topic Art is your passion you can search and find a multitude of titles about Art. The audio narration function can be used to listen to many magazines and newspaper articles. Up to 3 months of back issues are also available for most titles.
To download copies of publications so they can be read offline then access is either via the Press Reader App or via their website which can be viewed on our website -: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/librarynewspapers
Easy to use, publications can be downloaded on to a PC or a mobile device from any location with the facility to set up an automatic download of the next copy of a publication.
Readers can enjoy the convenience of accessing all their favourite publications in one place, along with the opportunity to discover new content from around the world. Read newspapers and magazines online including today’s Guardian, Telegraph and Daily Mail, Vogue, Empire, Focus, Gardeners World, Closer and thousands of others. Publications display well on a tablet, why not take advantage of this free resource when commuting or on holiday or if you are laid up at home unwell or stuck indoors because the weather is bad! There are an amazing range of community newspapers available on Press Reader, if you don’t have your own device then why not visit one of our libraries where library staff can log you on to one of our PC’s to view.
We hope you enjoy this fabulous free resource!
