Over 400 people have attended Get Set for Winter events held in libraries across Hertfordshire so far this winter. These helped local people find out how to avoid falls, stay safe and well. More than 300 pairs of anti-slip slippers were issued.
Thank you all for being so courteous and kind always and also for organising the slipper swap. I am absolutely delighted with mine. Royston Library visitor
Old worn out slippers can cause trips and falls leading to hospitalisation and loss of independence. Come to the new Hemel Hempstead Library on Monday 10 April from 10.00 till 12.00 to pick up information and advice, and some safe new slippers.
Items from the Reminiscence Collection, which helps people with memory loss, will be on display, including Memory Boxes. Library members can borrow these free, to share with friends and family.
Learn more about the Home Library Service and the benefits of a Carers Library Card. Libraries are also now information points for social care enquires. Library staff will be happy to help and to set up or update membership.
Our next event will be at Hemel Hempstead Library on Monday 10th April from 10am to 12noon.
