Dementia Awareness Week

Dementia is increasing across our communities and will touch most people's lives. Many of us do not really understand it or the simple things we can do to help others who have dementia.

The Library Service, in partnership with Health & Community Services, is working to provide access to helpful care information and advice from local libraries.

Activities include demonstrations of the Reminiscence Collection, which helps people who have memory loss and is free to library members.

Special displays of books from Dementia Books on Prescription collection which includes life stories about the experience of having dementia or caring for someone with dementia, as well as books about the condition and how to cope and of course, lots of information leaflets.

Dementia Awareness Week runs from 15 - 21 May 2017

Visit us all week to contribute a memory to our memory tree.

On Tuesday 16 May please visit to discover our Reminiscence Collection and meet the Alzheimer's Society, this is a free event but places may be limited so please book with the library or telephone 0300 123 4049
