Our aim is to help people to maintain their optimum wellbeing and fitness so they can continue to enjoy living as independently as possible.
New anti-slip footwear can stop some trips, slips and falls caused by old worn out slippers and help people to stay safe and well at home. Free slippers plus information about other ways to avoid falls will be provided.
This year we also want to help to reduce loneliness and social isolation which can have a huge impact on wellbeing and health. Representatives from local organisations are coming along to chat about their club and welcome event visitors to join. Many libraries hold regular social sessions open to all. Lots of people find volunteering very rewarding and life enhancing. Slipper Swap Socials are an opportunity to find and connect to community activities.
Visitors can talk to Diabetes Foot Care, Occupational Therapists, Fire Safety and AgeUK advisors and pick up a Small Acts of Kindness gift and book a Safe and Well home visit to ensure they are warm and safe over winter.
