We continue to provide copying, research and other remote services, although it may take us longer than usual to complete requests. Our staff are working both remotely and with limited numbers, on site with access to our collections.

Access to Ancestry has been temporarily expanded to library cardholders working remotely, courtesy of ProQuest and its partner Ancestry. Access is available through the Hertfordshire Libraries app and when you log in to the library service with your library membership details.

Our heritage shop is still open. We can supply our full range of books, maps, and conservation supplies by post.

Events and exhibitions
We are still offering a full and varied programme of virtual talks and activities.
We can also give a range of about different aspects of Hertfordshire’s past to your group.
We have moved our exhibition programme online. Recent additions include ‘Windrush and Beyond: An Exhibition for Black History Month’ and ‘LGBTQ+ History Month 2021’.
