Open + Library self-service
Open + is a new service which offers self-service access to the library when the building is unstaffed. This allows us to make the library available for longer than the current staffed opening hours.
- borrow and return books and DVDs
- collect reserved items
- use computers and Wi-Fi
- use space to study
- renew your loans
- read newspapers and magazines
- use the catalogue and online services
- photocopy and print
Here's how Open+ works
Customers need to register to use the Open+ service. Once you are signed up, all you do to enter the library when it's unstaffed is scan your membership card and type your secure PIN into a card reader at the library entrance.
CCTV cameras are in place for your peace of mind and safety. Pre-recorded messages are played and the lights change to let you know when the library is closing.
Croxley Green library will be piloting this new service in the very near future. Sign up for the service now by dropping into the library and speaking to a member of staff. The launch date and details of the hours this service will operate will be posted on the website and on posters at the library. If successful we hope to roll the service out to other libraries around the county.
