CMS got the first day of National Volunteer Week and the Hertfordshire Year of Volunteering off to a flying start, collecting the 8th annual “Excellence in Volunteer Management Awards”.
Volunteers across the county were invited by Volunteer Centres Hertfordshire to nominate organisations who supported them in their work. CMS received nominations from several of its regular participants and received the overall award for the first time.
CMS works with communities across Hertfordshire to help them care for and enjoy their environment, this year celebrating its 41st year of working with volunteers.
Cllr Derrick Ashley, Cabinet Member for Environment, Planning and Transport commented “It’s great to see our Countryside Management Service recognised in this way for the work they do supporting communities to take part in their local environment. This award is the perfect way to kick-off the Hertfordshire Year of Volunteering.”
