Hertfordshire County Council

We're inviting interested parties to put forward sites for potential inclusion the Waste Local Plan.

We're looking to identify sites or areas that are suitable for the location of new or enhanced (i.e extensions to existing facilities) waste management facilities.

This is so that, in line with national policy, our Waste Local Plan will meet the identified waste needs of the county, in terms of the number of facilities we need to treat the different types and amounts of waste produced.

The 8 week Call for Sites starts on Monday 23 July and runs untils Sunday 16 September 2018.

How to submit a site

Responses must be made using the proforma (Word doc 75.6kb) Opening a new window, completed in as much detail as possible.

  • You'll need to submit a separate proforma for each site you'd like to submit.
  • If you include email attachments, please make sure they're in a Word (.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), PDF or Jpeg format.

Email or post it to us at:

Following the Call for Sites, we'll assess which sites/areas might be suitable to go forward for inclusion in the Draft Waste Local Plan.

We intend to have the Draft Waste Local Plan published for public consultation in summer 2019. We'll also make the results of our site assessment available at this time.
