In March 2016 Hertfordshire County Council’s Cabinet made the decision to accept Veolia’s plans for an Energy Recovery Facility at Rye House Hoddesdon.  Veolia submitted their planning application for the facility to the Waste Planning Authority in December 2016 and a formal consultation process is currently underway.

See the planning application.

If the planning application is approved, Veolia hope to begin construction in 2017 and open the facility in 2020.

More information on the proposals can be found on Veolia’s project website. The website will be updated as the project progresses.
