About us

As part of Hertfordshire County Council, Step2Skills adult community learning and employment support service provides opportunities for adults in Hertfordshire to get involved in learning and employment within the community. We aim to work with people who face barriers to education and employment such as low skills, learning or physical disabilities and mental health conditions.

The courses we run are primarily low-cost in order to help improve the skills and wellbeing of people living in Hertfordshire.

We run courses on demand, subject to availability of teachers. So if you and a group of people want a course run for you such as Mindfulness, please get in contact on 01992 556194.

We provide training courses for staff so if you’re an employer looking to upskill your workforce, we want to hear from you.

We encourage all feedback from our learners in order to improve our service.

We use money wisely:

  • We thoroughly monitor and evaluate our service to ensure that our intervention is good value for money and deliver what we are supposed to.
  • We apply for funding from different sources to keep our service sustainable and to offer the best service for the people of Hertfordshire.

We try to do it right:

  • We take pride in what we do and encourage our partners, learners and participants to celebrate their achievements.

We embrace new ideas:

  • We actively seek new ideas from partners, learners and participants to advise and support each individual learner or participant.
  • We are agile in our planning and development of different types of interventions or programmes to meet current and emerging priorities.
  • We quickly adjust our ways of working when needed to make sure we remain effective and engage with people who require that extra help.
