North Herts Museum

Paddington™ comes to town!

19 March to 26 June 2022

The brilliant touring exhibition from the British Library, Paddington: The Story of a Bear, is coming to North Herts Museum. Follow his trail of marmalade splats to explore his tales of adventures in this educational and fun exhibition.

Celebrate one of the world’s most beloved fictional characters over 60 years on from when he was first introduced in 1958. Featuring over 50 books, documents and original artworks, highlights include the first edition of A Bear Called Pad-dington by Michael Bond given to his parents, a selection of memorabilia owned by Michael Bond – including Bond’s typewriter used in the 1960s – and original illustrations of Paddington stories by artists including Peggy Fortnum, David McKee and R.W. Alley.

Join us for a marmalade sandwich-fuelled trip down memory lane – an average visit lasts 30 minutes.

Cost: £3 or £1.50 for concessions

Knebworth House

Easter Trail

April 15 - April 18

Join us this Spring for the Knebworth Easter Trail over the long bank holiday weekend!

Follow the Trail around Knebworth Gardens to gather all the Easter clues and solve the word jumble. There will also be a craft activity available between 12pm and 3pm.

Trail sheets are available on arrival for £1 and are free to Season Ticket Holders. Under 3’s will need to purchase a Trail Sheet if they wish to take part and claim a prize. Last starting time for the Trail is 3pm.

This ticket will include access to Knebworth Park, Gardens, Adventure Playground with Fort Knebworth and Dinosaur Trail.

Book online before your visit for a reduced rate. Full priced tickets will also be available at the entrance on the day of your visit. Under 3’s are welcome free of charge.

Welcome to our historic Monitorial Schoolroom for Easter holiday craft sessions. For all children age 5 and over. Morning and afternoon sessions, £7 per child. Younger siblings welcome free with a paying child. All children must be accompa-nied by a responsible adult.

Explore our new exhibitions; hear from local groups about gardens and walks in Hertfordshire; buy some plants for your own garden; make your own crafty spring flowers.

Lowewood Museum

Fossil Fun

March 24, 2022

On Friday 8th April 2022, Lowewood Museum will be holding a Fossil Fun day in partnership with Rockwatch, the UK’s Nationwide Geology Club for Children.

Activities will include:

– Make a Jurassic landscape;

– Have a go at making your own plaster cast fossils;

– Dino hunt around the museum.

– Bring your fossils to have them identified and see other fossils on display!

Admission is free but donations are appreciated. Lowewood Museum is open be-tween 10am and 4:30pm. The event is on the ground floor so is accessible for those in wheelchairs.

Search the galleries high and low for hidden eggs.

Set off on the trail for 12 hidden eggs in the galleries. On your journey discover some of the egg-laying animals around the Museum and answer some questions about them.
