We have launched our test site- tell us what you think

Published Monday 9 December 2019

We've launched a test version of the new and improved Local Offer website and we'd like you to try it out! In this blog post, we share how we got to this point, and how you can give us feedback before the full version goes live.

Tuesday 21 January - You're invited to our Local Offer website launch event. Here's what we've got planned for you on the day.

Research and development

As part of the Transforming SEND project, the SEND digital team have been working on improving the Local Offer website. We wanted to create a friendlier resource for parents and professionals and also improve the information available online.

We started with a period of 'discovery'- researching what SEND information is currently available, and what families need to find online. We visited settings like schools and family centres, interviewed parents, and sent out surveys and tasks to the SEND Online Feedback Group. We then took everything we had learnt and set about designing a new website.

During the process we continued to work closely with parents, co-producing the rewrite of the information on the website, and helping with opinions on design work. You can read more about how we co-produced the new money pages with a parent, or how we arrived at the website's new look and feel.

The new test site

We’re making our changes live in a ‘test’ version of the site. We want to use the test site to find out what other changes we should make before we launch the full version in the new year.

We need your feedback!

We’ll find this out by your direct feedback, as well as looking at what people are searching for and how they navigate around the site. We’d like to hear feedback from as many of our visitors as possible, so please check out the test website and if you have a moment- let us know your thoughts. Complete the 'give feedback' option in the menu of the test site, or email us at SENDTransformation@hertfordshire.gov.uk
