Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)
An AVC is an arrangement that allows you to build up pension benefits with a separate AVC provider alongside your LGPS pension. Our AVC provider is Standard Life.
An AVC is a separate pot of money and is not part of your main LGPS pension. You can pay into an AVC if you are in the main or 50/50 section of the LGPS.
Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure (IDRP)
If you ever disagree with a decision made about your LGPS benefits, you have the right to raise this through the Scheme’s Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure (IDRP). The IDRP is a formal process that allows concerns or complaints about LGPS decisions to be reviewed.
Further information on how to submit an IDRP application can be found on the LPPA website.
