What people say about us Praise for Step2Skills What People Say about Us "The more diversity in our industry the better and more creative it will be." Read More Thank you to Anne and the committed and hard working educationalists at Step2Skills who invited me along to their meeting last week to share my thoughts. There's a lot of great work going on out there around skills, particularly in the creative industries, but it's often aimed at those starting out in their careers. My career has definitely been of the 'portfolio' variety (Zoology degree, lab work, journalist, internal comms, event manager, consultant, business owner) and I know a lot of others who have done the same. I was lucky to have had opportunities along the way to learn and improve - largely thanks to others and what they saw in me. Supporting adults learners to upskill or change careers with transferable skills is a small way to pay some of that on. Plus it's good for business - the more diversity in our industry the better and more creative it will be. Abby Director at Insight MCL The research highlighted that ‘Customer Service’ and 'Time Management’ workshops would be of great benefit to help support staff in their day-to-day roles with customers and shipment fulfilment. Read More Orbital Fasteners is a leading distributor of fixings, fasteners, tools& power tools in the UK with over 35 years’ experience in product, application know-how and customer service. After an initial contact with the Operations Manager, our research into the company pointed to the potential that Multiply training in number skills could support staff in their roles. The Operations Manager completed an employer questionnaire to help us and them identify opportunities for training and upskilling. The results highlighted that ‘Customer Service’ and ‘Time Management’ workshops would be of great benefit to help support their staff in their day-to-day roles with customers and shipment fulfilment. In order for staff to attend the ‘Customer Service’ workshop while maintaining day-to-day operations in the business, we arranged two Customer Service workshops across the day. The Operations Manager said that he was very happy with the workshops and we look forward to working with the company going forward to help support both their current workforce and future new starters. Read More Hightown is a charitable housing association (operating in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire) aiming to help people who need support and care or who cannot afford to buy or rent a home at market values. After an initial meeting with Hightown Housing Association, we were subsequently invited to a meeting with their Learning and Development team. Recognising the need to continually improve the digital skills of staff, we set up a ‘Basic Digital Skills’ workshop that was taught in the training room at their head office in Hemel Hempstead. Following this workshop, we then offered staff the opportunity to join a Multiply workshop designed to enhance number skills and another digital skills ‘Cyber Security’ workshop so the support staff would also know how to stay safe online. The workshops went well and we were pleased to go along to their Hightown Open Day and Christmas fair in Hemel to promote Multiply and other Step2Skills courses and services to the local community.
