Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a tax-free amount of money for some disabled children.
It can help with the extra costs of looking after a child (under 16) who:
- has difficulties walking, or needs more looking after than a child of the same age who doesn’t have a disability
- meets the eligibility requirements.
To apply, you need to complete the Disability Living Allowance claim form.
The rate depends on the level of help the child needs.
The child may need an assessment to work out what help they need.
