Hertfordshire responds to the Government's national SEND reform programme

Hertfordshire's draft SEND reform plan, developed by Hertfordshire County Council with the Central East Integrated Care Board, sets out how the Local Area SEND Partnership will take action to align with the Government's SEND Reform proposals, while continuing to improve local services in line with its SEND Strategy.

Our SEND Provision Plan - developed with families, schools, health partners and over 400 children and young people - includes a stronger focus on early help and enhances the support available through mainstream schools. It will also deliver one of the largest expansions of specialist SEND places in Hertfordshire history. We’re investing £140 million to create 1,150 new specialist places by 2029.
